This sweep of sugary sand is backed by low-lying green hills, the water a mesmerizing shade of aquamarine. Arguably the most famous and most photographed beach in the ABC Islands, Eagle Beach is a wide expanse of soft, white sand and sea that’s the most intense shade of turquoise imaginable. The iconic feature of Eagle Beach is the two fofoti trees here, their gnarled trunks twisted to point the foliage to the south west, the direction in which the wind blows. Lizards, goats, snakes, bats, colorful butterflies, and brilliant pink flamingos inhabit all three islands. Cycling tours, off-road ATV adventures, caves, historic houses, vibrant markets, and street art await. Immerse yourself in the full tropical experience and delve into expert travel advice and suggestions on activities to enjoy in cherished Southern Caribbean locales.

Why Visit the ABC Islands

Lastly, the Wharfside Flea Market offers bargain deals for t-shirts, hats, bags, beach towels, crafts and all types of souvenirs. If you don’t mind using your bargaining skills, you can walk away with some really awesome keepsakes for good prices. With its dramatic landscapes, arid interior and pastel-painted Dutch-style houses, Curaçao is a distinct delight nestled in the warm Caribbean Sea.

Night Southern Caribbean Holiday

For a small island where cactuses outnumber people, Bonaire impresses with a plethora of varied and innovative cuisine options. Feast on flavors of the world at El Mundo (Spanish for “The World”) on Kralendijk’s main street or enjoy Spanish tapas bites at  Bon Tapa. Sample sweet but spiny cactus liqueur at the  Cadushy Distillery, and don’t forget to buy a bottle to go (it’s the quintessential Bonairean souvenir). Run by a mother-son duo, hilltop restaurant Posada Para Mira in Rincon serves up local favorites like funchi (cornmeal), iguana soup, and lip-smacking goat stews and alongside Dutch pancakes and croquettes. After photographing the trees, there’s plenty to do on this Aruban beach, from watersports to relaxing on a sun lounger or snacking at some of the restaurants and food trucks along the sand.

To dive further into Curaçao’s history, make a pit stop at the  Kura Hulanda Museum, which displays African and Antillean art, and chronicles the slave trade and European colonization in a former merchant’s home. Bonaire is a bonafide spelunker’s nirvana with more than 400 caves to explore. Rent some wheels to lay eyes on lakes in supernatural shades of blue, green and pink, wild donkeys, salt flats, and saltwater lagoons where thousands of protected flamingos roam. Get your adrenaline pumping and harness the Bonairean wind while driving blokarts with  Bonaire Landsailing adventures or let  Bonaire Bird Photography Tours accompany you through cacti-filled Washington Slagbaai National Park.

Dutch influence is heavy here, and even though the island has its own government and accepts the U.S. dollar as its official currency, Bonaire is still a special municipality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. You'll find Dutch spoken on the island in addition to the native Papiamento. Pamper yourself in the Lotus Spa® with a massage, facial or manicure, and feel renewed. Enjoy The Sanctuary, a lounge just for adults, where you can relax with a light meal, specialty drink and al fresco massages while digging into that novel you've been looking forward to reading.

Near the park, you can also find Rock Wish Garden, where you can build stone towers that are believed to grant the wishes of those who make them. In the south, you'll find the San Nicolas Bay Reef Islands, which are a perfect place to see the Cayenne tern as well as other tropical birds. Meanwhile, more than 80 species live inside the Bubali Bird Sanctuary, which is close to Eagle Beach. Just like the arts and culture, Aruba's food is a mix of Caribbean, Dutch, African, and Latin American flavors. Fresh seafood, fried delicacies, wholesome stews, and tasty soups are all incorporated. Dishes like pan bati (a sweet and soft flatbread), cabrito stoba (a popular goat stew), and keri keri (a delicious fish soup) are all local staples and easy to find around the island.

Built to defend the island from pirates, the fort today houses the local government. The Floating Market to the north of Handelskade is vibrant with fresh fruit and fishermen selling their day’s catch. You can visit an old plantation house which is home to a small museum containing household items, furniture, and tools from that dark time in the island’s history. The factory has been here since 1890, and a tour will tell you all about the history of aloe on the island.

Hope some day they rotate Bonaire with HMC- that would work-so many cruises go to HMC-not enough to Bonaire. Pretty sure the Emerald Princess goes to Aruba & Bonaire which we'd like to go on sometime. We're going on the Brilliance of the Seas again to the Panama Canal (11 days which includes Curacao & Aruba). I've looked at it myself, unfortunately I can't get off work at that time. I bet though that if you searched you might be able to find a better deal.

If you prefer your relaxation more active, we offer Zumba, yoga and tai chi classes to burn off stress and raise your heart rate. Indian, African, Asian and European inhabitants formed Bonaire and the islanders keep alive many of the traditions brought by settlers.

Explore the charming, Dutch-influenced center of Kralendijk in Bonaire, known for its excellent shopping and dining. Or spend some time in Aruba's capital, Oranjestad, where you can learn about the island's history through its many museums and monuments, such as the National Archeological Museum and Fort Zoutman. Spots you should see include Christoffelpark, which is a protected park with a peak that's the island's highest at 375 meters above sea level. You should also visit the Hato Caves, which has stalactites, stalagmites, underground lakes and waterfalls. For beaches, Cas Abao, Playa Lagun, Playa Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara Beach all offer white sandy shores great for swimming, snorkeling or just lounging. Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts will be captivated by the underwater wonders, including vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life.

They include two lower beds convertible to one queen-size bed—our signature Mariner's Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses, plus a shower, mini-bar and refrigerator. Whether you seek adventure or relaxation, you’ll find it in our shore excursions. When your cruise ship docks in Aruba, you will make your way down the pier to venture into the city of Oranjestad.
